How to Create an Ubuntu Virtual Box in Oracle VM

    • Ubuntu .iso file you downloaded.
    • Unattended Install: Check the box to skip unattended installation (recommended for a manual, customized setup). [1, 2, 3, 4]
  1. Click Next.
2. Allocate Hardware
  1. Memory (RAM): Allocate at least 4 GB (4096 MB) to 8 GB, depending on your host computer's total RAM. Click Next.
  2. Processor: Allocate at least 2 CPU cores. Click Next.
  3. Virtual Hard Disk: Allocate at least 25 GB of disk space. Leave the default option to Create a Virtual Hard Disk Now. Click Next and then Finish. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
3. Install Ubuntu
  1. Select your new Ubuntu virtual machine from the left panel and click Start (the green arrow).
  2. The VM will boot and display a menu. Select Try or Install Ubuntu and hit Enter.
  3. Once the installer loads, choose Install Ubuntu on the welcome screen.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to select your keyboard layout, language, and installation type (choose Normal installation).
  5. Select Erase disk and install Ubuntu (this only erases the virtual hard drive created in step 2, not your actual computer). Click Install Now.
  6. Follow the final prompts to set up your Computer Name, Username, and Password.
  7. Once the installation is complete, click Restart Now. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
