On-screen Keyboard


To instantly open the virtual keyboard (On-Screen Keyboard) on your Windows laptop, press the Windows + Ctrl + O keys simultaneously. [1, 2]
For alternative ways to open the keyboard or to access it on a Mac, follow these steps:
Windows (10 and 11)
  • Keyboard Shortcut: Press Windows + Ctrl + O to toggle the keyboard on and off.
  • Run Command: Press Windows + R, type osk (which stands for On-Screen Keyboard), and hit Enter.
  • Settings Menu: Navigate to Start > Settings > Accessibility (or Ease of Access) > Keyboard, and turn on the toggle for On-Screen Keyboard. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
Mac (macOS)
  • System Settings: Go to the Apple menu > System Settings (or System Preferences) > Accessibility > Keyboard, and turn on the Accessibility Keyboard. [1, 2, 3]
  • Menu Bar Shortcut: Go to System Settings > Control Center > Keyboard and toggle Show in Menu Bar so you can click to turn the virtual keyboard on/off quickly.
